Best Free Stock Images for Author Graphics

Authors need fabulous, eye-catching graphics to share in their blog posts and on social media. Sometimes, though, even the least expensive image subscription is just not in the budget.

Today, I want to share with you a Pinterest board I’ve been creating. It contains all kinds of free writing- and reading-themed stock images. All you have to do is click through to the stock site and download the image(s) you want from them! Remember to use all images legally and appropriately (see this post for more details).

If you need help with the rest of the design, I highly recommend you check out Canva, a free, online graphic design tool with phenomenal design sense and great templates. You can start with one of their templates and upload your own image to use in the design. Then you can customize the text with your book quote, review, blog post title, or announcement.

As a matter of fact, I made this post’s Pin graphic using Canva…

  1. Another helpful hint for making fabulous graphics is to get a branding package. It includes overlays, colors, fonts, and styles to help all your graphics look consistent across the various blog and social media sizes. I have a couple for sale here (and more on the way): http://perryelisabethdesign.com/product-category/branding-packages/
